Supply Chain Management and Lean Manufacturing
Roger Nelson is an international senior consultant with over 15 years consulting experience. His has had diversified experience in supply chain management, manufacturing/ engineering management and manufacturing/management consulting. Mr. Nelson’s career has covered various industries encompassing automotive, metals processing, aerospace, material handling, electronics, telecommunications, health care, insurance and garment manufacturing.
Specifically, his multiple industry background has included process improvement implementations for supply chain and manufacturing/services arenas. His international consulting has been extensive with a major focus in Mainland China, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia and Sri Lanka.
His extensive project management exposure has covered supply chain enhancements, strategic sourcing and cost improvement programs. His responsibilities included the implementation of new processes throughout organizations to reduce cycle time and improve quality in the procurement, manufacturing and administrative functions. This involved multi-disciplined teams focused on process improvement, consolidation of functions, cost reduction, improved quality and throughput involving purchasing, finance, operations and logistics efforts. Training and facilitation of client personnel activities through mentoring and coaching were key efforts.
Roger’s experience in multi-site organizations has included numerous strategic cost improvement efforts. His consulting experience has encompassed management of engineering, materiel, supply chain/logistics, operations, sales/customer service and purchasing personnel in major projects.
He has conducted strategic outsourcing efforts including development of supplier partnerships, reduction in vendors, supplier evaluations, negotiations and workshops.
